S34 cantilever chair - Mart Stam 1926
The S34 cantilever chair by Mart Stam is the logical evolution of the famous S33 and was designed in 1926. As the first chair with a cantilevered tubular steel construction and armrests, it combines minimalist Bauhaus design with maximum comfort.
The continuous, curved tubular steel frame supports the seat and backrest without rear legs, providing the characteristic springy movement when sitting. The armrests, made of wood or with leather upholstery, enhance seating comfort and give the S34 its elegant, functional appearance.
The seat and backrest are available in a choice of woven Viennese wickerwork, high-quality leather, or robust fabric. This versatility allows the chair to be individually adapted to the dining room, office, conference room, or waiting area.
